Green Island

Green Island is a short boat trip from Cairns. We took the all day tour and barely had time to fit it all in. When we arrived we first explored the interior of the island. We started at Marineland Melanesia, then took the boardwalk the full length of the island. We walked back along the beach, joined the rest our tour in the semi-submersible submarine and glass-bottom boat rides. Then a photo opportunity with the birds while my mom and sister did their 'walking on the bottom of the ocean' experience.

Marineland Melanesia at first it looks like a small gift shop, but to one side there's a door with a person collecting tickets. You first enter a room that looks like your local fish store, except it has really nice displays and no dead fish! Next, you enter an area filled with Melanesian artifiacts and other maritime odds and ends. Then, you cross a small bridge over the giant turtle pond and you're in crocodile central!

So, here's how I broke down the day...
