Kuranda

It's all about the journey - Whether by rail or cableway. In reality, Kuranda is a very short distance from Cairns. A tour bus can traverse the distance in a very short time. So, why not step back in time and take the train - built between 1880 and 1915 the line covers about 24km, passes through 15 tunnels and 93 curves rising to an altitude of 327 meters. The return by modern cableway offers a spectacular treetop level view of the rainforest as you ascend to the top of Red Peak and then drop to the coastal plane. We ended the day at Tjapukai Aboriginal Culture Park.
