"Bad Water" -- Lowest Place in Western Hemisphere
Death Valley National Monument, California
Bad Water, nearly 300 feet below sea level and lowest point on the North American Continent.  The water, a saturated solution of various salts, is the terminal of the Amargosa River.  Amargosa, Spanish for "bitter", is used advised ly, for the waters when flowing, are as bitter as gall.
