The observatory of the University of Helsinki was moved there following a disasterous fire in Turku in 1827. The observatory buildings were designed by the famous architect Engel. The observatory is situated in a beautiful park on the top of a hill. The pictures above depict the lane leading to the front gate, the front gate, the observatory towers, and a small building that our tour guide represented as 'the observatory', but I suspect it is at most a small outbuilding, if a part of the observatory at all.
