It was a dismal, rainy, windy morning. The little mermaid was besieged by tourists, some actually climbing up on the rock where she sat. It was kind of sad. We had all of 10 minutes to stop and gawk. I snapped a quick picture, knowing I'd be disappointed in the results, but desiring a record of my having actually been there. After transferring the image to CD, I decided to re-make the image in a fashion more representative of my photographic skills. That's what you saw on the previous page. Here's the original before I tackled the problem, using Adobe Photoshop 5.5. At least I didn't splice a windmill into the background!
