Tucson II
a few interesting shots
Another trip to Tucson - mid March, 2008. This time we ventured a little farther out of town. We started out close by with an evening trip out Sabino Canyon.
The next morning we visited the Kitt Peak National Observatory. It was partly cloudy so the McMath solar telescope was not operating. This is my second visit to Kitt Peak, and both times the big telescope was closed to the public.
The desert was in bloom and the drive from Kitt Peak to Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument was spectacular. The roadside was carpeted with color that randomly changed from gold to blue to magenta.
Before we left we made a quick run to the start of the Mt. Lemmon road. The road was closed due to snow that morning, but we went three or four miles up to get a preview of the scenery.
It's difficult to walk past a pretty flower without taking a picture. I try not to obsess about wildflowers, but when you're practically tripping over them...
